Methodology

How we estimate costs

CalendarCost estimates meeting costs based on attendee count from your Google Calendar and salary estimates using AI.

We infer likely salaries from company domain, role context, and geographic location using industry benchmarks and public compensation data.

These are estimates for illustration — not actual salaries. The goal is awareness, not precision.

Privacy first

Salary estimates are cached locally in your browser. We never store individual salary data on our servers.

No individual salaries shown

We only display the aggregated meeting cost. You'll never see estimates for individual attendees.

Frequently asked questions

We use AI to estimate salaries based on company, role, and location. These are educated guesses using public market data, not actual salary information. The goal is directional accuracy — showing that meetings have real costs — not penny-perfect accounting.
